Indian Police Force to return for season 2:
Rohit Shetty who is known for creating Bollywood's first cop universe with Singham, Simmba and Sooryavanshi also ventured into the OTT space with a web series on the Delhi police force.
Indian Police Force, starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, and Vivek Oberoi garnered over 10 million views within a week of its release. Owing to the response, Amazon Prime Video has greenlit the second season of the series, with development processes expedited to meet the insatiable demand of eager viewers. "The show was made to garner a whole new section of the audience - masses who loved the Singham franchise. Indian Police Force was a tentpole show for Amazon Prime Video, and it achieved what it set out to do," informed a source to mid-day, adding that although a second season was always in the plans, expediting was never in the designs. The show ends with the Kathmanu track. "The [series] will be kept distinct from the Singham, Simmba, and |Sooryavanshi worlds and won't merge them in the subsequent season either. In the weeks to come, as the new season is developed, a crucial call will be taken if they want to extend the same storyline or go beyond and start a new story with the same characters," added the source.
