Prateik Babbar
Among the few cast members to have featured in all three editions of the show, Prateik Babbar says it is a "breath of fresh air" to turn up on the sets of Four More Shots Please, where women artistes take precedent. "Here, 90 per cent of the working individuals, including the producers, actors, and writers, are women. It is an all-women's set, and I feel like I am in great hands," says the actor who plays bartender-owner Jeh Wadia in the 10-episode Amazon Prime Video series.
Even though the story belongs to the four leading women, played by Saiyani Gupta, Bani J, Kirti Kulhari and Manvi Gagroo, he says his character has been integral to their journey, making him feel like "a part of their gang".
Not one to brush the criticism that the show has received under the carpet, owing to the flawed female characters, he says, "Maybe, people are not open-minded, but we have focused on the positives. The love that has been pouring in over the years is also [testimony]. It is an Emmy-nominated show, and that title speaks for itself. Despite the controversy, things have been handled graciously."
