Huma Qureshi has been garnering praises for her performance as the protagonist 'Rani Bharti' in the recently released web series 'Maharani'. Her co-star Amit Sial, who plays a pivotal role in the political drama, recently made an interesting revelation. Amit took a trip down memory lane and revealed that the first time he came across Huma was when she was in college.
Amit was the judge of an inter-college drama competition that Huma was part of. It was no surprise that Huma won the competition with her talent. Today, they both are pleased with their reel-life face off in the show. As the show unfolds, it is intriguing to watch Rani Bharti take on all her rivals, including Navin Kumar (Amit Sial), emerging as a formidable challenger to her husband, Bheema Bharti's (Sohum Shah) opponents.
"It was truly a coincidence that I happened to be a judge for a competition Huma was participating in. As an actor, she has written an amazing journey for herself. Her hard work is commendable. Little did we know that our paths would cross again, and we would be doing a show together. It was fantastic to share the screen with Huma; she is a treat to watch in âMaharani', a show that is full of surprises," said Amit Sial.
The much-anticipated series, âMaharani' which launched on SonyLIV is an effective political satire that keeps you glued to the screen for many reasons. The 10-episode series highlights Huma Qureshi as Rani Bharti and her transformation from a housewife to chief minister overnight. The show focuses on her journey as she navigates the corridors of power, a place that she never thought she'd find herself in.

Undoubtedly, Huma brought Rani Bharti's character to life, but what also compliments the show are her supremely talented co-stars- Sohum Shah, Amit Sial, Kani Kusruti, Sushil Pandey, Inaamulhaq, Pramod Pathak and more. Pushed into the turbulent world of politics, Rani Bharti is forced into an unlikely world of âkings', who come across as rivals, one of whom is Navin Kumar, an opposition party member, played brilliantly by Amit Sial.
