Celebrity chef Ranveer Brar
Celebrity chef Ranveer Brar believes that we are all born cooks. "It is a basic life skill like walking. Cooking is not rocket science. It is the application of heat to the ingredients. As long as you can boil water, you can cook," says Brar, who is currently hosting the third season of You Got Chef'd on the digital entertainment company, Pocket Aces' lifestyle channel Gobble.
"Cooking can also be a revelation. It just comes to you, and then you know you can cook. When I deal with people who are non-cooks, first, I make them believe that they take back those moments they struck a chord with food, and then try and understand how the process works," adds Brar.
Arjun Kapoor, Rohan Joshi, Pratik Gandhi and Tahira Kashyap are among the guests this season. "All of them appreciate good food," says Brar. "When you are standing on the gas range, you get to know the real person. The basic premise of You Got Chef'd is that cooking can be fun, it can be a voyage of discovery."
Brar is also working on a book on Lucknowi cuisine. "I am from the city and it will be my memories about the food in the havelis, in the nawab households. Lucknow is not only tunday kababs, there is so much more."
