Born on April 8, 1971, Tanaaz Lal (now Irani) is a Mumbaikar (born and raised in Mumbai). She did her initial schooling from The Cathedral and John Connon School and later went to The Alexandra Girls' English Institution School, Mumbai. She graduated from H. R. Tanaaz Lal was very young when she married a well-known stage and drama artist Farid Currim. She was abandoned by the Zoroastrian community for marrying outside the community. At age 20, Tanaaz gave birth to daughter Zianne Currim, who is. However, her marriage fell apart.
Tanaaz stepped into the television industry, post her divorce with Farid Currim. She met Bhakhtyar Irani in 2006 on the sets of Fame Gurukul and the duo eventually fell in love.
The couple tied the knot despite Bhakhtyar Irani's family were against the marriage. The family had oppositions initially as Tanaaz was 8 years older to Bhakhtyar. However, actress Delnaaz Irani (Tanaaz's sister-in-law) helped convince Bhaktyar's parents and the couple got married in 2007.
Tanaaz Irani has a son Zeus and daughter Zara with Bhakhtyar Irani.
Tanaaz, needless to say, saw many ups and downs in relationships at a very young age. Talking about trust in a relationship, Tanaaz Irani said, 'Come what may, trust between the couple is of utmost importance, especially if both parties work long hours. I think this is most crucial to ensure stability in the marriage and both have to strive to live up to it.'
Talking about marriage, Tanaaz Irani said, 'I think marriage is about the coming together of two families. Both have to accept the good and bad in each other. Sometimes you have to show appreciation, at others, make some compromises. I think remembering family members' birthdays, calling up relatives once-in-a-while goes a long way in forming strong ties.'
Tanaaz Irani and Bhakhtyar Irani celebrated 13th wedding anniversary on March 16, 2020. 'Love surpasses all differences. Even if there are things that I don't like doing, I do them just for my husband. For instance, if Bhakhtyar wants me to go with him to a party and I'm irritated because I don't want to go, I'll still end up going because it means a lot to him,' Tanaaz said.
Talking about her husband Bhakhtyar, she said, 'There has to be respect between the husband and wife. Even when you fight, I think you need to make up your mind about what you want to say. Never hit below the belt, there has to be a decorum to the fights. After all, in the heat of the moment, you don't want to say something that you didn't even mean.'
Tanaaz Irani is a complete family person and has time and again mentioned that her family matters the most to her!

Tanaaz Irani says, 'I love children and I think the joy of bringing them up together as good human beings is a fulfilling experience for a couple. They add a little madness to the couple's life and make it more interesting.'
On the work front, Tanaaz Irani made her Bollywood debut with Govinda and Rani Mukerji starrer Hadh Kar Di Aapne (2000). She was seen in Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel's debut film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai.
