Mona Singh's father is an ex-Army officer. Colonel (Retired) Jasbir Singh is a native of Chandigarh, Punjab. Her mother Rani Singh is a homemaker and has been the pillar of strength for the family.

In 2018, Mona Singh forayed into the digital space with the web series Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain. The web show is a huge hit among the audience and already has three seasons and a fourth in the making. It stars Mona along with Ronit Roy, Gurdeep Kohli and others.
Mona Singh believes "less is more" and that's why she restricted herself to only a few TV shows. In the meanwhile, she also had a small role in 3 Idiots, where she played Kareena Kapoor's on-screen sister. Mona's dramatic sequence where Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and R. Madhavan deliver her baby with Kareena's help through a web camera, was a much-talked-about scene.
