Kushal Punjabi was found dead at his Bandra residence on Thursday (December 26). 37-year-old actor, known for films like Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal and Kaal, committed suicide, and his death shocked everyone in the television and film industry. The Bandra Police registered a case of accidental death after Kushal Punjabi's body was found hanging in his apartment. The police have recovered a suicide note as well. In the suicide note, Punjabi wrote, "Nobody should be blamed for my death (sic)." In the one and a half page suicide note written in English, he has also asked that 50 per cent of his assets be divided equally among his parents and sister, and 50 per cent to be given to his 3-year-old son.

Karanvir Bohra was one of the first celebrity, who shared the news about the passing of friend and fellow television actor Kushal Punjabi. Karanvir mourning the loss of his friend wrote on his social media handles, "Ur demise has shocked the hell out of me.I'm still in denial @PunjabiKushal I know you are in a happier place,but this is unfathomable. You really inspired me with the way you saw life, but what was I to know. I will always remember u as a #dancingdaddy #fit & a #lifeenthusiast [sic]"

According to sources, Kushal Punjabi was depressed since his wife left him alone with their child. The couple was planning their separation by mutual understanding, but the divorce wasn't filed in the court. Punjabi's wife is a French national and lives in Shanghai.

When it's NOT !! , Kushal was a fighter .. he would be doing something new each time that we would connect , we were colleagues and not close friends but I know his family.. his parents and sister, they are simple and good people .. why did no one see this coming ? [sic]"

Kavita Kaushik further wrote, "kushal is gone and we can't get him back but we can be there for anyone who needs support .. I'm heartbroken but I'm there, anyone who wants to talk I'M HERE you have created a dent in our hearts and gone Kushal ... can't imagine the pain of your family and close ones [sic]"
