Born on October 25, 1988, popular Television actress Kritika Kamra hails from Madhya Pradesh, India. Kritika wanted to become a fashion designer. She pursued fashion designing from National Institute of Fashion Technology but dropped out after her first year, when she was signed for Zee Next TV show Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar. Kritika Kamra got noticed for her work on working on television shows such as Kitani Mohabbat Hai (2009), Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (2011), Reporters (2015) and Prem Ya Paheli: Chandrakanta (2017).

In 2014, Kritika Kamra took a break from fiction shows to try her luck in the celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa - Season 7. Opting for a reality show like 'Jhalak...' was a conscious decision by Kritika as she wanted to break the mould and explore a different side. However, she got eliminated in the third week itself.

After Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Kritika turned host for the show MTV Webbed - Season 2. "I was away from the small screen for a long time after 'Kuch Toh Log Kahenge'. I returned as a host for 'MTV Webbed' because I wanted to do something different after doing fiction for almost six years on TV," Kritika said.

Justifying her break from fiction shows, Kritika said, "I did those shows because I wanted to do that kind of work at that time in my career. Now many characters and serials are similar to what I have done in the past. So, I kept away from fiction."

In 2018, Kritika Kamra took the Bollywood plunge with Mitron. Set in a Gujarati milieu, Mitron featured Jackky Bhagnani and was a slice-of-life film directed by Nitin Kakkar of "Filmistaan" fame. It was a remake of the Telugu film Pelli Choopulu. However, Mitron bombed at the Box Office.

Kritika Kamra had been close to making a debut a few times in the past before Mitron happened. The actress had signed films, which even went on floors and later nothing materialized and got stalled.

"Sometimes the film did not take off... And they were all, according to me, logical decisions. I was very cautious that I wanted to do a film with a good director, with a great script, with a production house wherein you would know the film won't get canned... But I found that even films with big studios sometimes don't literally take off," revealed Kritika.

After years of dabbling in the television industry, Kritika Kamra was happy to land an important role in Mitron. "Films are very male-centric unlike TV, which is very female-centric, but even in a male-centric medium, I got to do a very good female part. So I was really happy that my film debut was Mitron," she said.

Months after her Bollywood debut, Kritika Kamra opened up about the struggle of transitioning from Television to Bollywood.

Kritika Kamra revealed that the classist divide between film and television is still present in the industry. "People already believe that I can't do cinema, or that I don't have the sensibility, or I am not a subtle actor because I have done TV shows before, which I think is not fair," Kritika said on the chat show, By Invite Only.

Apart from TV and films, Kamra has also featured in commercial ads for brands such as Coca-Cola, Stayfree Secure, Parachute Hair Oil, Fair and Lovely Beauty on Duty and many more.

Kritika Kamra is all geared up for the upcoming comedy-drama Kaun Banega Shekhawati, co-starring Lara Dutta, Naseeruddin Shah and Anya Singh. The show will be out on Disney+Hotstar.

On the personal front, Kritika Kamra is a hardcore fitness enthusiast. Her cheat meal is gorging on a Pizza, which she indulges in once a week. She compensates her cheat meal by fasting for 16 hours and trying to keep her calorie intake low. 

Though Kritika Kamra is mindful of what she eats, she even looks forward to her next cheat meal and works out regularly at the same time.
