Born into a Punjabi family, Karan Tacker acquired a degree in business management before he decided to foray into the television industry.

Karan Tacker is extremely close to his sister and the pair have a fun time whenever they get together. The actor is also quite the beach bum as many of his Instagram pictures prove!

First job and first pay cheques are always special. Karan Tacker, who started out as an actor 11 years ago, recently recalled his first ad-shoot, revealing he got just Rs 1,500 for the job.

"11 years is a long time, and I have had some great experiences. I had a business back then which was undergoing a financial loss and I tried my luck in showbiz. I started my journey with an ad for a cold drink brand based out of Gujarat. My first paycheck for it was of Rs. 1500. Even after so long, it just feels like yesterday. The industry has always been very warm and welcoming, audience has showered so much love," he said.

Did you know Karan had a short role in SRK-Anushka Sharma's 2008 film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi? That's Karan in the red shirt dancing on the screen behind Shah Rukh Khan! While the role may have been extremely short, it got him his debut TV show, Love Ne Mila Di Jodi, in which he played the lead role. 

Karan also appeared in the television show Rang Badalti Odhani and then played the lead role in Star Plus' popular show Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai as Viren Singh Vadhera.

Karan Tacker showed off his dancing skills in the seventh season of the popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, and was declared the first runner-up. 

The dashing actor has also hosted a few TV reality shows like Halla Bol, The Voice India, and Nach Baliye 8 along with actress Upasana Singh.

Did you know Karan Tacker and actress Krystle D'Souza were rumoured to be dating? Both Karan and Krystle have worked on the daily soap, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai. But the duo chose to keep mum on their relationship status, and later, reports suggested that they had parted ways.

Now, rumour mills suggest that Karan Tacker may have found love in Dear Maya actress Shreya Chaudhry. But Karan maintains that they're only friends.

Karan's latest professional outing has been the Hotstar limited series Special Ops. The actor can be seen in the role of an undercover agent, Farooq Ali. Special Ops also features Kay Kay Menon, Divya Dutta, Vinay Pathak, Muzammil Ibrahim, Vipul Gupta, Sajjad Delafrooz, Parmeet Sethi, Gautami Kapoor, Sana Khan, Sharad Kelkar, and KP Mukherjee.

According to a report in IANS, Karan Tacker shot his audition tape for Special Ops in a public toilet! He shared, "The toughest part was to not talk about the show while shooting! I gave an audition from the most unexpected place..."

"I was holidaying in Uttarakhand and there was not enough light in my hotel room to shoot the audition tests. I ended up in a public toilet which had sunlight, shot a self-test and got things rolling."
