Mahesh Bhatt is giving finishing touches to an auto-biographical television show 'Namkaran' which has Viraf Patel and Barkha Bisht playing pivotal roles

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt is set to offer the small screen audience an insight into his eventful life through an upcoming show titled 'Namkaran'. The story revolves around an illegitimate child.

Says a source, "Bhatt has never shied away from admitting that he, too, was born out of wedlock. He has co-written the story, which has several resemblances to his life. It is a powerful subject and he is looking for competent performers to be cast for the show."

'Namkaran' is likely to roll out in September. The Bhatts will not produce the show, but will be involved in the making.
A source close to the project says, "Hunt for the child actor is still on. So far, Barkha Bisht and Viraf Patel have been finalised to play pivotal roles. We are still working out the time slot and other details. Ideally, we would want to air it either on Saturday or Sunday, but the channel is planning to replace it with daily soap, 'Diya Aur Baati Hum'. The final call will be taken once the production team and channel official come together for a meeting in the next few days."
When we got in touch with Bhatt, he confirmed making the show, but refused to divulge details.
