Valentine's Day 2023: The whole essence of Valentine's Day has gone hither-tither, says Sneha Wagh

After having played the memorable roles of Jyoti (in ‘Jyoti'), Moora (‘Chandragupt Maurya'), Ratan Kaur Sampooran Singh (‘Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera'), she went onto participate in the much-talked about Marathi reality show ‘Bigg Boss Marathi 3'. Presently, she is playing an important role in ‘Na Umar Ki Seema Ho'. Mid day Online spoke to Sneha Wagh about her idea of valentine's Day and her she plans to spend the day.

Hi Sneha! When was the first time you realized / understood the significance/ importance of Valentine's Day?
I was in my college, when I figured that something like this exists (smiles). Later, as I started growing up, I realized the actual importance of Valentine's Day. I understood that, the day was to celebrate love in general, not in specific manner, but overall!!

Who was your first Valentine? Please be honest… Honesty appreciated…
Haha!! As I said it's about celebrating love. My parents!!

Do you think that the concept of Valentine's Day has been misinterpreted?
Of course! It's romanticized… The whole essence has gone hither-tither, especially after all those ‘Chocolate Day', ‘Hug Day' and blah, blah!

Is Valentine's Day only about romance and love? Or can that day be celebrated for friendship as well?
As I had mentioned, it's about celebrating love. All forms of love and especially the unconditional ones yaa!! Even Friendship will fall in this bracket (smiles).

Which is the best book on Valentine's day that you have read?
‘The Art of Letting Go' by Sanhita Baruah… I feel that self-love should be the biggest priority for each one, especially when we are celebrating love.

Can you recall your most memorable Valentine's Day?
Haha!! I don't really celebrate these days to be honest. I feel love should be celebrated each day, every moment. When you can love, why unnecessarily hate?

What type of a Valentine are you? Card-Roses types/ romantic poems types or the candle light dinner types? Or is there anything besides these?
Yes… I am a card, flowers, handwritten letters, candle light dinners, long drives all of it. Let's call it as a kind of hopeless romantic!

Has anyone rejected your Valentine's Day proposal or have you rejected any Valentine's Day proposal?
Haha, saare raaz khulwaoge kya! Who hasn't gotten rejected in life at least once? We all have some point. (laughs)

If you had a choose a Bollywood celebrity as your Valentine, whom will you choose and why?
Hrithik Roshan!! Dude, he's fab… And yeah… he's an awesome dancer too. I love dancing. Jokes apart, a date with Hrithik Roshan would be a nice one.

If you had to choose a Hollywood celebrity as your Valentine, whom will you choose and why?
Brad Pitt!! Dude…he's beyond perfection.

Do you have any special plans for this year's Valentine's Day?
Yes, I'd be shooting for ‘Naa Umra Ki Seema Ho. My work is my biggest date…

It's a given that you will definitely have many admirers. In that case, have you ever received any card or gift from a secret admirer? If yes, what was it and what was your reaction to it?
I have had a lot of secret admirers in my life. And I always respected their secrecy! Usually, I receive a lot of flowers secretly. Since almost everyone knows that I love them.

In your opinion, is Valentine's Day the most romantic day of the year?
Blaahh! People have hyped it so much that the actual essence of Valentine's Day has got lost in the bargain.

What's your idea of a perfect Valentine's Day date?
A perfect date for me is about candle light dinner and some long drive followed by.

Valentine's Day is about love and Cupid. Have you ever played the Cupid in anyone's life? Or has anyone played Cupid in your life?
Cupid! Yes, I have been to a few friends while I was growing up. It's fun!! (laughs)
