Tarun Khanna to play Tulsidas in 'Vighnaharta Ganesh'

Tarun Khanna has been roped in to play Tulsidas in the long-running serial, 'Vighnaharta Ganesh'. The actor, who has been part of several mythological shows, including 'Paramavatar Shri Krishna' and 'Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush', will be a part of the fresh storyline of the show, which will soon be aired in the episodes to come.

Says Khanna, "I am super stoked to be a part of a show that has been successfully on for years. I believe that portraying the saint and poet Tulsidas is a huge responsibility, hence I decided to take it up as a challenge. I didn't want to let go of it because I believe a role like this doesn't come to you often."

Further adding, the actor said, "When I was offered this role I knew very little about this character, so I googled, did my research and grabbed all the resources that I could gather to read about it. The production team also helped me a lot in that."

The storyline will be about Tulsidas' whole journey, from his early days, childhood and then how he became a saint. He was not a Brahmin from birth. He got married and his life changed after marriage. He then got inspiration and went on a journey where he actually wrote 'Ramcharitmanas'. Very few people know that he had written few poems earlier also but nothing became so popular."
