Shubhangi Atre who plays Angoori Bhabi in 'Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai' joins mid-day.com to share her memories of Holi, plans this year and much more.
Best memories of Holi?
I have so many memories of Holi, and because it is my favourite festival, it will be difficult to choose just one. But yes, I love celebrating this day with my loved ones. So, I would say that every Holi I play with my family and friends is special. I love playing with colours, and this year too, I am excited about colouring everyone.
Are there any Holi traditions specific to your region or culture?
Getting up early in the morning and taking the blessings of the elders and mother, putting a lot of oil in our hair to protect it from harmful colours, is a tradition that is being followed in my family, and I feel this must be followed by all the families in this country, I guess.
The food you enjoy on Holiâ¦
In Bhopal, Holi is a festival of putting colours on and eating some good food. Coming from a joint family, I remember how we all used to shop in advance for pichkaris and bright colours that we could throw on each other. We used to enjoy food items like gujiya, jalebi, besan ke laddoo, chakli, and bhakarwadi after drenching each other in colours.
