Zee TV has been a pioneer and a trend-setter in shaping television content over the past three decades and once again, it seems to be changing the face of music reality shows with its latest non-fiction property, the Indian Pro Music League (IPML). In a clutter-breaking format innovation, Zee TV launched the world's first-ever music league championship on February 26th, 2021.
While the world of sports has seen several league competitions, this unique music league has six teams representing different regions of India, battling it out against each other in a musical championship. Each of these six teams supported by leading Bollywood and sports celebrities has top playback singers as their captains, one reality show star, and one fresh voice. Celebrated singers - Mika Singh, Kailash Kher, Sajid Khan, Shaan, Ankit Tiwari, Javed Ali, Asees Kaur, Bhoomi Trivedi, AkritiKakar, Payal Dev, Neha Bhasin, Shilpa Rao are captains of these six zonal teams.
After the epic opening ceremony, the six teams are ready to battle it out and the first set of league matches have kicked off. In the upcoming episode, we will see UP Dabbangs battle it out against Bengal Tigers, and during the shoot of this particular episode, Bengal Tigers captains Shaan and Akriti Kakar delivered a mesmerizing performance on - Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe from Dil Chahta Hai. After the act, Shaan went down memory lane and revealed a surprising anecdote about the track. The Bengal Tigers captain mentioned how he was supposed to sing for Akshaye Khanna's part in the song but ended up singing Saif Ali Khan's part. He even mentioned how Farhan Akhtar pranked everyone after the song was recorded as well!
As Shaan revealed, "I have an interesting story about this song that no one knows about. The director of Dil Chahta Hai, Farhan Akhtar, had a vision that every actor should have a separate voice for himself in Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe. I was brought on board to sing Akshaye Khanna's part in the song, but after the recording, Farhan felt that my voice matches more with Saif Ali Khan's than Akshaye's. What followed was even more hilarious! He pranked everyone working on the movie, telling them that Saif himself has sung this song, and surprisingly people believed it. When everyone came to know the truth, they were stunned even more and that's how I actually got the song âWoh Ladki Hai Kaha' as well."

Shaan even added how Dil Chahta Hai was extra special for him. As he mentioned, "Dil Chahta Hai's success was extremely important for me because till then I believed that something had jinxed my movie soundtracks. No matter how super hit my songs were at that time, the movies didn't do so well on the box office. So, I was really hoping for this curse to break and that happened with DilChahta Hai."
