Singer Neeti Mohan, best known for her songs like "Jiya re", "Keech meri photo" and "Bang bang", says she wants to do playback singing for Bollywood's dancing diva Madhuri Dixit Nene.

"I have sung for many actresses like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Anushka Sharma. But I have been a big fan of Madhuri Dixit. I think the way she dances on a song is brilliant. I sang for her once for a 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' promo. I got happy in that only," Neeti told IANS.
"But if I'll get a chance to do playback for her, then it would be a dream comes true moment for me. She is my family's favourite as we used to put her posters on our house walls when we were living in Delhi. I don't know when she is going to do another film, but I would love to be her singing voice," Neeti added.
The power-packed singer, who came into the limelight after winning TV show "Popstars", has also showcased her acting skills in 2005 film "Socha Na Tha". However, she says she is not too keen about acting right now and wants to focus on her singing career.
"My journey in showbiz has been a little different from other singers. I used to feel like singing all types of songs like bhajans, folk songs and Bollywood numbers. Also I used to dance and act on stage and do plays in college. I used to do everything. It was tough to select which was the right choice," she said.
"(But) If some good offer comes my way, I will definitely do acting again. I am open to it, but right now I am focused on singing. So I don't know when I will act again," added the singer, who became the voice of Anushka's character in "Bombay Velvet".
On the singing front, Neeti believes that singers should not try to imitate others' style.
"I think every singer has his own presence. I don't think that we should follow anybody to complete our dreams. You should not say that I want to be the next Lata Mangeshkar or Asha Bhosle. You should not imitate them and you should rather learn from them.
"You should show off your own originality. Those who have done this have achieved a lot in life. I feel unknowingly Lata ji is my teacher," Neeti said.
She will next be seen as a coach on the upcoming singing reality show "The Voice India Kids", which will be aired on &TV starting from July 23.
Talking about the show, Neeti said: "I started my career by winning a reality show only. Today I am getting a chance to appear as a judge on another reality show. So I think life has come full circle for me. I am here to learn from my fellow coaches - Shekhar Ravjiani and Shaan."
Post "The Voice India Kids", Neeti will join music maestro A.R. Rahman on his Britain tour in September.
Talking about Rahman, Neeti said: "I studied in a boarding school. Music was not allowed there. At that time 'Roja' had released. So I had a cassette of that film only. I used to hear only that. My friends used to say that this girl is mad.
"After listening to his music, I started taking interest in this field. He has inspired me to become a singer. I have done some 50-60 shows with him across the world. Now also I'll be going with him to Britain."
