Mona Singh
Mona Singh lives by the idea that one should try everything once in life. After exploring saas-bahu dramas, dance reality shows, movies and web shows, the actor is now gearing up to host a crime-based reality show. In the overcrowded world of CID, Savdhaan India and Crime Patrol, she says 'Mauka-E-Vardaat' is different. "It studies how the crime was done rather than getting into the âwhy' and âwhere' [of things]. Additionally, every episode has a female protagonist who unravels the crime by reporting about it. It's high time women stopped being scared of speaking up if they are suffering. Hopefully, a show that reaches every household, every day, will bring about some change in society," says Singh.

Ask her if a steady stream of shows involving real-life cases make people paranoid about trusting their neighbours and others around, and Singh states, "In such cases, ignorance is not bliss. I used to hug my friend's daughter whenever I went to her place. Now that she is 13, she doesn't hug me back. It's not because she doesn't love me, but because she is aware. It's important for people to know what is happening around them. I am doing a good thing morally by being a part of this show."
With the show slated to go on floors by the month-end, the actor will have to play the juggling game. "I have always believed in doing one show at a time. But July onwards, I will juggle 'Mauka-E-Vardaat' with the shoot of two web series. I will also [resume work on] Laal Singh Chaddha."
