Gurucharan Singh missing case: TMKOC co-star Samay Shah recalls last chat with the actor, says, ‘He was happy’

The news of Gurucharan Singh's disappearance has shocked everyone. The actor, known for his role as Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular TV show "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah," has been missing since April 22. Now, Samay Shah, who played his son in TMKOC, shared his last conversation with the actor.

Samay, in conversation with Indian Express, revealed that he had a phone call with Gurucharan Singh 4-5 months ago, during which Singh motivated him for about an hour. "I spoke with him 4 to 5 months ago over the phone. The conversation lasted for an hour or more, and he kept motivating me. We spoke about chasing dreams. I was missing him a lot, especially as we were not working together anymore, and we were reminiscing," said Samay. The on-screen father-son duo last met at actor Dilip Joshi's son's reception.

Reports of Gurucharan Singh struggling with depression came as a shock to Samay because, according to him, Singh is generally a happy person. When discussing health conditions, Samay said, "He seemed happy when we spoke. I still cannot believe that people are saying he was depressed. He is not that kind of person, but then you cannot predict how human consciousness works sometimes. Whenever we spoke, he was very kind and sweet, he seemed alright, and he would continuously check on me. I don't think he was depressed. However, we never had the kind of conversations he would have with his parents or friends. I was like a son to him."

According to a report by PTI, detectives from the Delhi Police Special Cell visited Gurucharan Singh's residence in Palam, Delhi, to investigate his strange disappearance. CCTV footage captured the actor walking across the street near Delhi airport with a backpack. The police revealed that they obtained crucial leads regarding his whereabouts through technical analysis. Some earlier reports indicated that Gurucharan's health wasn't great before he disappeared. Apparently, he had high blood pressure and wasn't eating well. He even had some health check-ups done a few days before he went missing.

Gurucharan Singh, known for playing Roshan Singh Sodhi on 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,' left the show because of his father's health problems, prioritizing his family.
