Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin/PR image
Sai and Virat from Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, played by Ayesha Singh and Neil Bhatt, is currently one of the small screen's most loved onscreen pairs. The duo in a conversation with mid-day.com answers everything their fans want to know.
Which romantic scene according to you is Virat and Sai's best till date?
Neil: The one where Virat has planned their anniversary. It was a grand gesture. He put a lot of efforts in it.
Ayesha: There are a lot of cute and romantic moments, every scene is unique since the start. There was a scene where we shot a scene at 3-4 am, Sai and Virat are newlyweds and by mistake she disturbs his sleep by placing her hand on his chest. They then make a pillow wall between them and keep glancing at each other through it. It was a cute scene beautifully lit by our DOP and brilliantly directed and written. That was the first scene that made me realise the spark that Sai and Virat have between them. Another scene where Virat gets candy floss and balloons to celebrate when Sai becomes a state topper. A lot of scenes start with a quarrel, then there is concern for each other, then both get upset that their partner doesn't understand them - it's like a roller-coaster. Then we address the misunderstandings with Pakhi and then get back to caring for each other. These moments are the essence of Sairat (ship name for Sai and Virat). It's a kind of love hate relationship, they don't understand each other but there is something between them that they can't figure out. It is love!
Which song or movie title suits Virat and Sai best?
Neil: I think Mardani film's title suits Sai.
Ayesha: The song that suits Virat is âGhum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein'. According to me Virat has a lot of love and passion, he is capable of loving someone so much. He has so much affection and care for that person, he can go to any extent, even if it is suffering for his partner. He wants to keep the family together, he's full of love.

A funny habit your co-star has?
Neil: Ayesha has a habit of laughing in the middle of scenes. I can control my laughter but I think it's funny when she just loses it and gives in.
Ayesha: Neil sir is very witty, his one-liners are spontaneous. He's very alert and knows what is happening around even if he is busy reading a scene. So he just murmurs something, his one liners are really cute.
What is your rapport with your co-star off-screen?
Neil: We share a nice cordial bond on set. As I've mentioned it many times earlier too. There's a lot of leg pulling and laughter with serious work happening. All in all, a good rapport.
Ayesha: I respect him and his passion towards his art. The sincerity and experience he brings to the table. I share a good, fun rapport with him.
Memorable fan comments that your jodi has received...
Neil: I think people really connect to Sairat, it's heartwarming to see their comments. There have been lots of comments and it'll be injustice to just select one. But one such comment that I kind of remember is that we've transcended from being characters to almost real people on screen. That's a victory as an artist I feel.
Ayesha: Everyone is special and precious to me, it's sweet of them to like the chemistry we bring. Sairat is given by our fans and that's a huge compliment.
Message to fans who love watching you both...
Neil: I really appreciate the efforts taken by fans to show their love. I couldn't have asked for a better audience. I'm filled with gratitude and humility with their love.
Ayesha: Thank you for being there so lovingly. I would always want to entertain you guys. I'm happy that people resonate with Sai and Ayesha.
