Karanvir Sharma at home
In our special series Be My Guest, television actor Karanvir Sharma takes us in his private space and gives us a peek into what went into making his beautiful, serene house. We've seen him as Shaurya Sabherwal in Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani, now let's meet the real Karanvir as we join him on a tour of his Mumbai pad.
What's your favourite spot in the house?
My favourite spot in the house is my balcony, it has a little set up of mirchi lights on and scented candles. I have plants in my balcony, money plants and others as well. So it's like my own space where I want to be in the city, but also away from it. So it's like a place where I do my things, like my phone calls, my meetings, my readings and my cup of tea. So yeah, that's my favourite spot.
How did you design this area?
I always knew that I wanted one place for myself where it secludes you from the house altogether. During the lockdown, I needed the space the most. So that's how the idea came that I need a place for my 'me time'. So here is where all my script reading also happens.
What's your favourite decor item?
Recently, a fan gifted me a wind chime which I used and it goes perfectly with the theme. So that is my current favourite item in my house.

How did you choose a colour scheme?
I like earthy colours very much. I like things which are close to nature, so this calls for the colour patterns. Dusted pink, matte green, light brown are my favourite colours and a little bit of granite flooring. So that's about my favourite colour scheme and decor ideas.
What's an ideal day-off at home for you?
An ideal day off at home for me would be where I could be doing anything. It completely depends on my mood. As I am not someone who can sleep anytime, no matter how tired I am. So I may be helping in the kitchen, cooking something, I might be playing video games or enjoying music or connecting with my friends. I also love reading, going through some old photographs. So I could be doing any of these things depending on my mood.
What's the most important aspect while deciding about a house?
The most important aspect for me to decide on a home would be... I really love one of those wall to wall windows that give you an abundance of light and space. That is like a must for me. I don't like many chambers or pillars in the house, so that's another thing. So for me it would be a high ceiling, open wall windows and minimalistic space.
If one ever visits your home, the one thing they will be treated to...
You will be treated to good tea, good hospitality and a homely vibe. That's what you will be treated to firstly, and also great food.
The item one will always find in your pantry
You will definitely find Assam tea because that is my most favourite and you will find all the flavours of white tea, green tea, chamomile tea. I am a tea lover so you will find all the flavours of tea and also coffee maybe. Besides that you will find peanut butter, all kinds of honey from wherever they are in the country. Also lots of fruits, of course!
A series you're currently binging on when at home
I am currently enjoying my vacation in Alibaug, but once I am home I have a few suggestions from my friends and family which I am going to watch. I have recently finished Squid Game.
Your favourite gadgets at home
My current favourite gadget is the master speaker that I bought recently. Apart from that, my headphones, my laptop and Alexa and smartwatch. So these are the gadgets that I can't do without. My most favourite will always be a good music system. So as soon as I wake up, I have a ritual of playing some jazz music in the background with some fresh air.
