Shaheer Sheikh, currently seen in Pavitra Rishta 2 and Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, recently turned dad to daughter Anaya. The actor tells mid-day.com, how he is juggling with work and fatherhood. Onscreen, he plays dad to three children in his show and shares how he pulls off the act!
Now that you are a new dad how do you balance your shoots for your shows like Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, Pavitra Rishta 2 and other commitments?
It is quite challenging to balance work and fatherhood since we are already dealing with the pandemic and I have step out for my shoots and work long hours. I try my best to spend as much as possible with my daughter Anaya. In the future maybe I will try to not sign many projects at a time for some time so I can spend more time at home with her.
How did you decide on the name Anaya and who chose the name?
We had shortlisted a few names and this is the name that her mother (Ruchikaa Kapoor) suggested and eventually selected. Eventually you have to agree to what the mother says! So Anaya it is.

On screen, too, in Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi you play a dad to three kids. How difficult or easy is it to shoot with the children?
It's fun but challenging at the same time. I was just shooting with the three kids till a few minutes ago. If it's just one kid in the room it's manageable but having three kids, shooting with them and keeping them happy as well is my biggest challenge. Yes, it takes twice the time to shoot a scene but I still enjoy it.
