In Exclusive chat with Ayushi Khurana
Ayushi Khurana is stealing hearts with her performance in the Sony SAB show âAangan Aapno Ka'. Prior to this, the actress shared screen space with Shoaib Ibrahim in a show called âAjooni'. In conversation with midday.com, Ayushi talked about her recent show, the shift to OTT, working with Mahesh Thakur, and much more.
When discussing her character and how much she related to it, Ayushi shared, "Pallavi's perspective on marriage is different; she doesn't want to leave her father. She wants to be there for her father and take care of him, and there is nothing wrong with that. It's not like she has a problem with marriage, rather, she wants to strike a balance between her home and in-laws. Post-marriage, priorities change, and she doesn't want her priority to change because her priority was, is, and will always be her father. I can completely relate to Pallavi as I have grown up in a family of only girls, and I have realized that my mother will also feel the same post my marriage. So, I can completely relate to Pallavi."
When asked about the shift in content requirements with OTT and navigating what the audience wants, the actress said, "Post-corona, people have switched to OTT. If you check TV shows nowadays, most of them have similar love triangle stories. But when I first read the concept of Aangan, I was very happy, as I have never read anything like this before. It was very new, different, and pure. It's a complete family story. We think about this idea, but we haven't seen a show like this before. I used to think about my family that post me and my sisters' weddings, my parents will be all alone. People need to understand that they can strike a balance post marriage; they don't have to choose their in-laws over their own families."
Further, while talking about working with a senior actor like Mahesh Thakur, she shared, "Mahesh sir is a gem of a person. It is fun to work with him, and he is very welcoming and warm. The first time we were mock-shooting, we gelled so well that it doesn't feel like we have been working for only 2 months; it feels like it has been 2 years since I know him. He is very welcoming even when he is having lunch and all."

Prior to this, Ayushi has worked with Shoaib Ibrahim on 'Ajooni'. Sharing her experience and wishing him luck for his stint in 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa', Ayushi said, "He is a sweet person, an amazing actor, and coactor. He is a great dancer. I usually don't get a chance to watch 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa', but I see whatever he puts on Instagram, and he is doing really well. So, I just want to say all the very best to him. He is very welcoming and professional. I hope to work with him again."
Further in our conversation, she talked about how she tries to be convincing while playing different roles. The actress shared, "I don't think it is difficult to convince the audience. I think when they love your acting, when they see your work, they get convinced. 'Ajooni' was a totally different character; Pallavi is totally different. People loved me as 'Ajooni', and now they are loving me as Pallavi, and I am really glad for that. I think it's the good work that you do that convinces the audience."
In the concluding note, she thanked viewers and fans for all the love she has received till now.
