Anupamaa Update: Ankush exposes Maaya’s background, Anupamaa stands by Maaya

The day starts off with an extreme gratitude-full Anupamaa introducing Maaya before the whole guests as the biological mother of chhoti Anu. While this shocks Anuj extremely and also the entire guests, Anupamaa still stands by her words. Hearing this and seeing this, Maaya folds her hands in gratefulness and thanks Anupama whole heartedly. Seeing all this angers Anuj to a large extent. Seeing him in anger Vanraj and Ankush come to console him.

This is followed by chhoti Anu's cake cutting ceremony and a grand dance function with their respective ‘lucky' partners. After everyone's grand dance, chhoti Anu announces that the ‘main performance' is yet to happen. And when Anuj asks her which main performance she is talking about, then, chhoti Anu says that she was referring to the dance performances of her two mothers - Anupamaa and Maaya.

Just as things are proceeding smoothly, Maaya's friend Sushma slaps Ankush's friend Arun Kapoor in front of everyone. And when Anupamaa questions her outburst, Ankush steps forward and reveals about Maaya's past by stating that they are basically dancers in a club. He also adds that, that's the reason why Maaya doesn't know the name of chhoti Anu's father. And when Barkhaa points her finger at Maaya's career, it is Anupamaa who steps forward and defends Maaya's choice of being a club dancer. That's when Maaya steps forward before everyone confesses of being a club dancer before everyone.
