With more and more B-Town folk on the small screen nowadays, there's one more name on the list. Buzz is that Urmila Matondkar has been approached for a TV serial

The actress has been missing from B-Town for a while now and of late only spotted at events.

Says a source, "She has been in talks with Prem Kishen and his son Siddharth Malhotra's production house for a show. They are keen to cast a Bollywood face in the leading role. Urmila has already been sounded off." Buzz is that the role is that of a mother of an extremely young rape victim. Adds the source, "The story revolves around how she seeks revenge and there is her own love story angle too."

Siddharth Malhotra who had directed the Kareena-Kajol starrer We Are Family says, "We are trying to see if Urmila and we can work together, but the show or concept has not yet been decided." Urmila was seen on the tube earlier as judge of season two of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (2007) and Chak Dhoom Dhoom (2011) as well as host of Warr Parrivar (2008).

Interestingly, in the mid-'80s Urmila had acted in Shyam Benegal's Katha Sagar, which aired on Doordarshan. It had several film folk acting in the episodic short stories. Later, the show was produced by Prem Kishen's production house. Urmila will just come a full circle if she features in the soap.
