For Kapil Sharma, there seems to be no respite from controversies. Still smarting from his mid-flight fracas with co-host Sunil Grover last month, the funnyman has now been accused of plagiarism by Delhi-based stand-up artiste Abijit Ganguly.
Abijit Ganguly
Abijit posted a long message on Facebook, saying one of his 'Having an elder brother' jokes released two weeks ago on YouTube was lifted for The Kapil Sharma Show's Sunday episode. "Kiku Sharda cracked my joke on how Indian cricket team's bowling strength depends on the fact that elder brothers never let younger brothers bat. It made me really angry," he tells mid-day.
While Abijit has found support from co-comics, he's hurt by abusive messages from Kapil's fans. "His fans are criticising me as if I have committed a crime. They have committed robbery," he says, adding he has been advised against taking legal action in this case.
Kapil and Kiku didn't respond to calls.
