Actor Smiriti Kalra loves to travel and makes sure that she regularly takes trips. Her latest one was her holiday to Andaman and Nicobar Islands. "I visited Andaman and Nicobar Islands recently as it was on my wish list. The purpose was to see their untouched beauty, pristine white beaches, crystal clear water and greenery. It was very calm and serene there," says the actor, who backpacked on the trip.

Her trip didn't end there. "After Andaman, I was in Kochi for a while. I saw Kerala backwaters. Then I was in Bangalore for a wedding and now I am back eagerly looking forward to starting working again," she says.

Smiriti feels that everyone should take breaks regularly. "Everybody needs a break from their chaotic schedule and humdrum life. A holiday is really a state of mind. If today I say I want to be on a holiday, I can sit at home, read my novel, sip my coffee, have nariyal pani and sleep the whole day and that'll be a holiday for me. Holiday can be any day of the week. There're holidays in which you travel so much from one place or town to another, and that may not be really relaxing. But it is invigorating as it charges you up and brings excitement back in your life, which is also relaxing for some people," she says.

She adds, "The more you travel, the more you learn about new cultures. You see new places and listen to new languages, see new inventions and you learn from all this. As you go on learning new things in life by traveling, you're basically enriching your life."
