Shamita Shetty
Days after reports of Shamita Shetty skipping the shoot of stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi hit headlines, comes news that the actor had, in fact, been battling dengue. Having taken ill soon after she arrived in Argentina, where the ninth season of the Rohit Shetty-hosted show kicked-off, Shetty was able to finally resume filming from Thursday.
The actor confirmed the news to mid-day, stating, "I'm bummed with what happened, but am slowly regaining my strength. I have started shooting and performing stunts yesterday. I look forward to give my best to the show."
A source tells mid-day that the actor was unwell on the day she arrived in Argentina. "She was diagnosed with dengue and advised complete rest. There were reports that she would return to India, but she didn't allow her illness to dampen her desire to shoot. Although she is on the road to recovery yet, she already commenced filming," says the source, adding that sister Shilpa and mother Sunanda have been in touch with her.
Given that there were speculations of the actor being paid a huge sum for the action show, it is suggested that returning to Mumbai would have led to contractual violations.
