Is 'Dayaben' Disha Vakani quitting Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah?

Disha Vakani plays the character of Dayaben in the show.

Television actress Disha Vakani, who stole people's hearts with her honest and sincere acting skills as Daya ben in the show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, reportedly has quit the show. The actress had gone on a maternity break and was blessed with a baby girl on November 30. Apparently, Disha wants to spend her time with children and unable to do so, therefore is quitting the show.

However, the show's producer Asit Kumar Modi has refuted the news and told timesofindia.com, "The shooting conditions are tough and since Disha's baby is still very young she needs her. We haven't discussed about her return yet and there is no official confirmation on Disha quitting Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah."

Disha Vakani tied the knot with Mayur Padia, who is a chartered accountant, in 2016 in Mumbai. The marriage was an arranged one and the wedding was held in Oshiwara.

Earlier, while talking to mid-day, a source had mentioned that the actor, who requested to call time on her stint on the show since she's expecting her first child, will return after her pregnancy leave.

"The makers don't want to replace Disha Vakani. She is an integral part of the show. They will concentrate on the other characters in her absence." It was speculated that Vakani would be replaced by Giaa Manek, but an official statement hasn't been made.
