Aarti, 30, went to the NYFA (New York Film Academy) to do a film-making course in 2011 and learnt various aspects of making a movie there. Now, she is looking to show her training on big screen.
"I have always been interested in going to a film school and getting exposed to the world of film-making. The idea of getting hands on experience of being behind the camera was very exciting. Also, the course on film-making is important from acting point of view as it helps enhance your performance," Aarti said.
At New York Film Academy, Aarti learnt about lights, sound, editing, directing, acting and other aspects of film-making. "Now that I have learnt it I would love to explore being behind the camera. I would like to direct some day. But presently my focus is on acting," she said.
The actress, who has appeared in films like 'Awara Pagal Deewana', 'Shaadi No 1', 'Shootout at Lokhandwala' among others, says the TV show will help taking her love for dance to the next level. "I think its an opportunity to take my love for dancing ahead and learn some dance forms. I am not looking at competing with anyone. Also by accepting something on TV does not mean I am shifting from films to TV. I took this show as a challenge," Aarti said.
Aarti would be seen on big screen in a Punjabi film 'Viyaah 70 kms' about which she is quite excited but is not willing to share much details. The film is set to release in July. "I am open to acting in any kind of cinema. Language is not a barrier for me," she said.u00a0
