For those who didn't manage to catch up with the much awaited comedy show during the weekend, you've not missed anything great. 'The Kapil Sharma Show' - something that all other Hindi GEC channels feared would eat into their TRPs and kill the competition, is not ROFL (Rolling on the floor laughing) inducing. While it's not all bad and there were a few comic elements, none of them belonged to Kapil Sharma.

With so much hype around the comedian coming back on TV with another show, it just seems like 'Comedy Nights' with Kapil shifted from one channel to another, they changed the look of the set and tweaked the characters a bit.

We somehow don't see any drastic change in the style or content of comedy. Considering Shah Rukh Khan inaugurated the first episode, we can confidently say the actor was funnier than Kapil.

Even stand up comedians are booed off stage if they repeat their act, but somehow people still continue to lap up the repetitive humour that Kapil offers. This could be because of his charm. Ali Asgar, who swore to never get back into female attire shifted from Dadi to being called Nani, albeit a partially blind one. Luckily, Kiku Sharda and Sunil Grover have given up their female garb and are trying out something new.

While they still struggle to make us laugh, it's definitely a fresh attempt. Sumona Chakravarti goes from being Kapil's wife to now his childhood friend, who is smitten by him. Kapil's jokes on her lips and looks continue as usual.

The introduction of a public toilet run by Suresh Menon was funny, especially when he asks Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor, who had come to promote their upcoming film, to advertise for it. Well imagine if they make all the stars do that. The show also introduced a new element wherein Kapil will invite (previously chosen) people from the audience to showcase their talent, which barely lasts a minute.

As usual, it's more of a way to laugh at them rather than give them an opportunity to display their skills. The whole look and feel of the new set is interesting, even if the jokes are old. Kapil brings nothing new to the plate and it seems like waste of the prime time slot.
