Singer Neha Bhasin, last seen on Karan Johar's Bigg Boss OTT, earned love but also had some strong trolling to deal with. The singer tells mid-day.com, that she feels great to be back to normal life and took the trolling with a pinch of salt. She's also excited about her upcoming film songs and singles.
How does it feel to be back to the normal world after Bigg Boss OTT?
It feels great to be back to normal life. I'm back to music and family, so finishing all my pending recordings and projects and getting back to it, gearing up for live performances... So yeah, all is good after the OTT journey.
What did you miss the most when in the house?
I missed music the most, I missed singing, doing my riyaaz. I definitely missed my family, my dog and speaking to my mother in the house.
How did you deal with trolls and negativity after coming out?
I dealt with the trolling and the negativity with a pinch of salt, with humour and with love. I think there is a very thin line between love and hate. In my case, both have been very strong. So I think I dealt with both with equal gratitude.
Has support from family, friends and fans helped you deal with it?
I think I have the best family that anybody can ever ask for. I think my mother, my husband, my brother and sister, are the angels of my life. Everybody has been so much loving and supporting and my fans are not just seasonal fans, these are lovers for lives, these are warriors for lives that stand up for my tribe that stand up for people like me. I am very real and genuine as a person and I think so are my fans. Definitely all the love has helped me deal with whatever negativity that came in my way and I cherish it.
Recently, your fans trended you to enter Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 15. Your reaction?
I call my fans, lovers and warriors. They aren't seasonal fans, they are a tribe of like-minded intelligent people. I don't agree with fan wars. I agree with love and support and that's what I got unconditionally from my fans. I am overwhelmed how my fans combatted all the hate and trolling from other fandom by trending me on no 1 and the fact that they want to see me in Bigg Boss 15 has also stolen my heart away. Since I am not a typical Bigg Boss contestant and have mostly garnered fans and love for my music and art, I was grateful to know people now know me and love me for me. I was a 100 percent real, raw and myself on the show. I often forgot I am a 'somebody' outside and just lived like myself in the house and I think that genuineness resonated with people a lot.
Your friend Pratik Sehajpal is in Bigg Boss 15. Will you be watching the season and any advice for him?
Well, I wish all the best to all the three OTT contestants (Pratik, Shamita Shetty and Nishant Bhat). All three are my friends and I wish them all the best. I will not be watching the Bigg Boss seasons since I never followed it as such. Though I really enjoyed my OTT journey and I am very grateful for it, but I am not myself a very big fan of reality shows.
How did you feel about Divya Agarwal's win and the other finalists?
I think all the OTT finalists deserved to be finalists because they all have wonderful performances in the show. I am very proud that I was in the top 6, if not in top 5 as well, because I didn't think I would last that long. So that was amazing. Other than that, I don't know about Divya winning. I have slightly different perspective, I look at the world slightly differently but may be Bigg Boss is a different universe. But since our Indian audience chose her as the winner then may be there is something they see in her which I probably cannot, but I respect it.
Where do we see or hear you next?
There are some great film songs that I have sung, you'll be hearing me next and my singles will be releasing in a month. And lots of big surprises coming in the way, so yeah, stay tuned for that. I am getting more offers for reality shows, but it all depends on my schedule. Whether or not I feel that it's the right thing for me to do, but as I said I really enjoyed my OTT journey. And I thank each and every one who supported me in that.
