The film also marks the Tamil debut of Bobby Deol and his first with Suriya. Deol essays the role of the antagonist in the film

Bobby was seen in a white shirt with colourful stripe patterns for the launch of the song 'Yolo' in Delhi
Suriya called Bobby Deol his big brother and said that the latter is two years senior to him. He also thanked the audience for showering love on Tamil cinema outside of the state as well
Talking about Kanguva, Suriya praised director Siva and said that his strength lies in portraying emotions on screen. He said that the film is a true Indian movie and is not restricted to one language.

Moreover, the film has been shot across seven different countries on various continents of India. The makers had a very specific look in mind, as this is a very unique film showing the prehistoric period
The makers hired experts from Hollywood for the technical departments like action and cinematography. The film has one of the biggest war sequences, featuring over 10,000 people. The film will be released in theatres on November 14
