Veteran Malayalam actor and former MP Innocent passed away in a private hospital in Kochi on Sunday. He was 75.
The former Lok Sabha member was taken to the VPS Lakeshore Hospital in Kochi on March 3 due to breathing issues and uneasiness. The 75-year-old veteran comedian and character actor was diagnosed with cancer some years ago and according to sources, Innocent had suffered a fall after which his health deteriorated.
Apart from battling cancer, the actor tested positive for Covid thrice in the past three years which took a toll on his health.
Mourning is demise, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor took to Twitter and wrote, "Mourning the loss of character actor, comedian & one-time Kerala MP Innocent, who has just passed away at age 75. Aside from being a brilliantly inventive & gifted actor, he was a fine human being whom it was a pleasure to interact with in the Lok Sabha. RIP. Om Shanti."

In his illustrious career spanning over 50 years, Innocent was known for his impeccable comic timing. He started his film career with AB Raj's Nrithasala in 1972. He has been a part of more than 750 films in his five-decade long career.
