L- Vijay in Leo, R- Couple who got engaged in the theatre
On Thursday, cinema halls in Tamil Nadu and some other parts of the country had a festival vibe on as Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo' released in theatres. The film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj was released worldwide on October 19 and shows in India began as early as 4 am.
While fans were seen celebrating the release of the film with dhols, dance and firecrackers, an interesting incident took place in one of the theatres in Pudukottai. A resident of Pudukottai, Venkatesh got engaged to Manjula in the theatre screening the film. Venkatesh is a huge fan of Vijay.
In the videos and pictures doing the rounds, Venkatesh and Manjula can be seen in traditional south Indian attires. They exchanged garlands and rings as audience cheered for them. Speaking about this, Venkatesh said, "I have neither mother nor father. Vijay is everything to me. That's why I got engaged in his presence."
"I have been waiting for this for 8 months. Tomorrow our marriage is going to take place in Perumal temple," the groom-to-be said.

Thalapathy Vijay's much-anticipated film 'Leo' is now available in theatres. The film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj reunites him with Vijay for their second film together. Several fans pulled out all the stops early morning to celebrate the release of Vijay's film. Several videos and pictures have been doing the rounds on the internet in which Thalapathy Vijay's fans can be seen dancing and cheering out loud. Many places down South even witnessed a sea of fans thronging cinema halls with full "band baaja".
'Leo' also features Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan and Arjun Sarja. 'Leo' marks a reunion between Vijay and Kanagaraj after the 2021 blockbuster 'Master'.
Recently, superstar Rajinikanth also talked about Thalapathi Vijay and Sanjay Dutt's film 'Leo' and said, "I pray to God, that movie should become a huge hit."
In order to make the release a grand affair, Seven Screen Studios Production had filed a petition before the Madras High Court requesting to allow the film to be screened as early as 4 am across cinema halls in Tamil Nadu on the day of its release. However, the court refrained from from passing orders regarding the request for 4 am shows.
