'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' has released amid much fanfare, with trade analysts on Friday predicting the magnum opus to clock historic figures at the
box office. The second part of the epic drama, which released today, has been directed by SS Rajamouli.
Experts expect the film to mint nearly Rs 70 crore today nationwide. "The advance booking is crazy. There is a repeat value also for the film. The opening day figures should be Rs 70 crore in all languages. It's all set to create history with the film earning Rs 230-240 crore over the weekend," exhibitor Akshay Rathi told PTI. Trade analyst Komal Nahta said the Hindi dubbed version itself is all set to create new benchmarks.
"The opening day looks like Rs 40 crore plus for Hindi version and the weekend will be more than Rs 100 crore. The film is destined to make history and it is going to break every single record-opening day, weekend, first week and so on," he said. The film is doing exceptionally well even in the single screen theatres. "The second part has met the massive fan expectations that was built around it. Audience is enjoying and loving the film. It is going housefull and we have advance booking till Tuesday," Manoj Desai, Executive Director of Gaiety, Galaxy and Maratha Mandir cinema said. Desai said they haven't increased the ticket rates and expect the film to keep the momentum going even during weekdays.
The first part which ended on a cliffhanger, with people eager to know 'Why did Kattappa killed Baahubali?' had collected Rs 650 crore (gross) at the worldwide box-office. Nahta said going by the positive word of mouth across the board, the film will challenge existing record holders like "Sultan", "PK" and "Dangal". "The audience' reaction is phenomenal. The film is a winner and it is going to be one of the biggest hits of Indian cinema. I won't be surprised if it crosses the collection of 'PK' 'Sultan' and even 'Dangal'. This film is huge and definitely has the potential to do so," he said. Starring Prabhas, Rana Dagubatti, Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty, the film has released in 8,500 screens worldwide. The film is releasing in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada.
