Malayalam film superstar Mohanlal announced his new film. He has joined forces with ace filmmaker Joshiy yet again for the film titled 'Rambaan'. The film marks a reunion for Mohanlal and Joshiy, who have collaborated on several films including 'Praja', 'Run Baby Run', 'No.20 Madras Mail', 'Naran', and 'January Oru Orma'.
Mohanlal shared the film update on his official X page. "Delighted to unveil #Rambaan, my upcoming movie, directed by Joshiy sir and produced by Chemban Vinod Jose, Einstin Zac Paul and Shailesh R. Singh! Your support means the world to us," Mohanlal posted. Filming begins in mid-2024, the makers said in the official announcement teaser of 'Rambaan'.

The movie title and motion poster was launched at an event in Kochi. In the poster, an animated Mohanlal can be seen standing atop a vintage car, facing away from the camera. He is seen holding a hammer and a gun, suggesting that the film will be an action-packed spectacle. The right side of the poster has a more rural set-up while the left side has a more urban set-up with towering buildings. We also see a signboard for the âIvy Gentlemen's Club'
The movie is expected to be released in theatres in 2025 on the festive occasion of Vishu and Easter. 'Rambaan' is a production of Chembosky Motion Pictures, Einstin Media, and Nextel Studios. Mohanlal's latest Malayalam release was 'Alone' and he was most recently seen in a cameo in Rajinikanth-starrer Tamil film 'Jailer'.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal is currently also shooting for the much anticipated film 'Empuraan' directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The first film titled 'Lucifer' was released in 2019 and was the biggest blockbuster of Malayalam cinema that year. The second part went on floors earlier this month. The superstar also has a film with Drishyam maker Jeethu Joseph titled Ram in the pipeline. Mohanlal will also be seen in Lijo Jose Pellissery's 'Malaikottai Vaaliban' and Barroz: Guardian of Treasures, where he will be making his directorial debut.
Joshiy, on the other hand, is set to make a comeback with the action drama Antony, starring Joju George and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles. His last film, the Suresh Gopi-starrer Paappan, had failed to impress audiences.
