Days after Kareena Kapoor Khan backed out of Geetu Mohandas' film 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups' starring 'KGF' actor Yash, the makers have finalised their female lead. According to a report in Filmfare, actress Kiara Advani has bagged a role in the film. However, she is reportedly not Kareena's replacement in the film. Kiara will be seen opposite Yash as his romantic interest. Kareena Kapoor was earlier roped in to play Yash's sister in the film, a pivotal character to the narrative.

With the film set to go on floors in June, the makers are frantically looking for Kareena's replacement. Mid-day had earlier reported that industry insiders suggest that the frontrunners to play Yash's on-screen sister are Nayanthara and Kriti Sanon. A source revealed, "The project is expensive. So, they want an actor with a wide appeal, since the sister's part is crucial to the narrative. Nayanthara would be a perfect fit given her massive popularity down south. Bringing together Yash and her will be quite a casting coup. But since the makers want to build it as a pan-India film, they are also considering Kriti, who is currently one of Bollywood's biggest female actors. If Kriti comes on board, she will have to juggle it with Housefull 5. The makers are likely to decide by next week and approach one of them."

'KGF' Star Yash's 'Toxic - A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups', written and directed by Geetu Mohandas, will be co-produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind creations. The film will be released worldwide on 10th April, 2025.

Sharing her thoughts about the film, Geetu Mohandas said, "I've always experimented with my style of narratives. Although Liars dice and Moothon were received well internationally, I've always craved to find my own audience in my country . This project stemmed from that thought. This film is an amalgamation of two opposite worlds and aesthetics in story telling coming together and I found Yash . Who is one of the most brilliant minds I have come across and I'm excited for our team to begin this magical journey.''
