Rajinikanth and Tamannaah Bhatia's upcoming film 'Jailer' is all set to hit the theatres on August 11. The film's makers recently organised a grand audio launch event in Chennai. Apart from the superstar and Tamannaah, the launch was also attended by director Nelson Dilipkumar and music director Anirudh Ravichander. At the launch, the superstar was seen in a candid mood and addressed several topics.

At the audio launch, Rajinikanth spoke about his tryst with alcoholism. "If there was no alcohol in my life, I would have served the society. Alcoholism is the biggest mistake in life," he was quoted as saying. Recollecting an incident that happened two years ago, he said, "I once came home drunk at 2 in the night after a successful staging of a play and my brother advised me to only drink to celebrate and not make it a habit". He also said that he would have become a bigger and better star if not for alcoholism.

Speaking at the launch, Rajini said that he had rejected multiple scripts after 'Annaatthe' as they sounded similar to his previous films 'Baasha' and 'Annamalai'. He also spoke about the online abuse Nelson received after the release of Vijay-starrer 'Beast'. He revealed that he got a lot of calls from distributors asking him to change the director of his next film. However, he learnt that Beast was not a loss for the distributors and the production house. He added that he was clear on his decision of working with Nelson and they went ahead with Jailer.

The actor also spoke about wanting to get rid of the superstar title in film credits. He had requested the directors to remove the title card, but they had refused to do so. Ending his speech on a powerful note, Rajinikanth addressed the negativity and criticism he often faces, stating, "There are no dogs that don't bark and no tongues that don't criticize, and then there are no places devoid of both."

Meanwhile, speaking to ANI, leading lady Tamannaah Bhatia said, "People have given so much love. The song is trending so much that normally, we promote films, but now this song has promoted us so much that we literally have to come out and talk about the love that people has given us and made it trend". The song 'Kaavaalaa' from the movie has become a huge hit and is being recreated by fans across India.
