A Punjabi song needs no introduction actually. Punjabi now has become a cosmopolitan language that has made its presence in every nook & corner of the world. Punjabi artists have earned global recognition on creating catchy, party-rocking numbers ensuring that ample whiskey-shishkey and soni kudis are mingling around. The sound of Tumba and a crooning Punjabi is still the most addictive drug at any party. The famous Punjabi Dhol beats build the aura and let everyone tap the feet anywhere everywhere!
Since childhood, I was keenly fascinated with Punjabi music and thus chose my career in the music domain. I was inspired by my father. He always used to encourage me to produce the best quality of music. Being my mother tongue and native language, I was awe-inspired by the Punjabi language. I love to experiment with various soundtracks of different musical genres. Currently, we have an awesome musical team working with one of the reputed musical Companies in Mohali, named "Desi Melodies". Our team includes Jaani (Lyricist, singer), Arvindr Khaira (Director, Filmmaker), and Dilraj Singh Nandha (Music Supervisor).
The music company since its start has achieved many accolades. The lyricist Jaani and music director Arvindr Khaira producing blockbuster Punjabi songs such as "Coka" was most popular receiving a whopping 470+ million YouTube views, and 3.8 million recreates with 250+ million streaming on other musical platforms like Gaana, Wynk, JioSavan, Spotify, etc.
We have step our foot in Bollywood as well. We have collaborated with a renowned production house starring Akshay Kumar in the song "Filhall". The song gains whopping 900+million views and became the most-loved non-film music.
I truly believe "Once a Punjabi is always & forever a Punjabi" The Punjabis truly understand what works globally. In the UK in the 70s, Punjabi music became intertwined with British Pop. By the 1980s, Punjabi music, many types, of which were now being referred to as "Bhangra," started to be played in discos in the UK and US.
Punjabi music consumption has grown by 5X in the last year. Punjab is a rich market and it keeps acknowledging new talent now and then. There is no shortage of Punjabi singers or music producers or lyricists in Punjab. Wherever there's a need to pep up your mood that is where Punjabi music comes in. And of course, it has always been a part of the wedding culture.
I would love to advise my fellow music friends that just believe in themselves, keep their trust in work. Hardworking on any new concept is the real mantra. If you stick to this, there is nothing that stops you from becoming successful. My good wishes to everyone out there! Stay tuned with such a melodious musical journey ahead!
