Jungkook released his debut solo single ‘Seven’ on July 14. While fans believed the track would be an homage to BTS’s journey, Jungkook surprised ARMYs by unleashing his inner lover boy and centering the song around a fictional love story

The song is about loving someone right (ahem, ahem – in the ‘clean’ version) seven days a week. ARMYs went berserk at Jungkook’s sexy visuals and enchanting sensual vocals in the song

Jungkook gave an exclusive interview to Weverse magazine about the making and behind-the-scenes of ‘Seven.’ He also talked about growing as an individual artist and developing distinct musical sensibilities

In the interview, Jungkook talked about how he was far more relaxed while recording this track and tried to not let his perfectionistic tendencies bog him down

He said he sang the song from start to finish for multiple takes – and rather than employing fancy vocal techniques or using vibrato, he tried to keep it natural. Jungkook’s ‘sleek pop vibe’ is what makes ‘Seven’ the perfect summer song!

BTS and ARMY share a long-standing, enduring bond. The relationship between them goes beyond idols and fans. Rather, they view each other as friends, supporters and trusted confidantes

Jungkook opened up more on this special relationship with ARMY – saying that they are the only one he trusts to see his unfiltered drunk side. They are also the ones he tells when he gets back home safely

“My life would be meaningless without ARMY now. I mean, they’re always there for me. ARMY and I are almost perfectly in sync now. When I’ve been drinking, I never call my mom and dad and say, “I’m home.” I do it to ARMY though. That’s just the person I’ve become. It’s such a natural feeling,” he said

BTS keep travelling far and wide to promote their new music. However, since the beginning of their career, livestreams have been a foolproof way for them to connect with ARMYs and keep them in the loop. Jungkook re-affirmed the importance his bond with ARMY and said “They’re the ones who support me, so I want to be comfortable showing them who I am, and while we might be physically far apart, I hope we can feel like we’re right next to each other, just like friends"

Ever the modest artists, BTS constantly ask their fans why is it that they love them so much. After all, as Kim Namjoon, the group leader says – they’re nothing but “a bunch of ordinary 20-something year olds.” In their song, we are Bulletproof Pt. 2, a track dedicated to ARMYs, Jin achingly sings, “Tell me why you’re still walking with us”

Jungkook seemed to echo these thoughts when he admitted to Weverse that he’s not quite sure why he’s so beloved in the fandom. “#When I look at myself, I honestly can’t tell. I’m not someone with very high self-esteem. Why am I so popular? Is it just because they like my voice? Or maybe the way I dance? I still can’t figure it out—about why I’m loved by all these people,” he said

Jungkook said that it is because of ARMYs' support that he became more confident, aspired to be ‘cooler’ and give better performances. This certainly shows in the stunning performance of video of ‘Seven’ released by Big Hit Music

The Golden Maknae aces literally everything he takes up – no wonder he is part of BTS’s dance line, which also includes J-Hope and Jimin. Jungkook said that he kept the choreography simple for this song, but did his best to capture the sensual ‘90s American vibe through his movements

The best part? He’s dancing to the explicit version in the performance video!

Despite having a cold, Jungkook performed a stunning rendition of ‘Seven’ at BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

He also hosted a live listening party at the Lounge – treating ARMYs to his heavenly vocals while singing songs like ‘Let there Be Love’ by Oasis

Jungkook also engaged in a conversation with the BBC Live Lounge hosts. He said that taking time apart as a group to reflect on their individual characteristics and musical tastes will amplify their synergy as a team when they get back together – and he can’t wait for that to happen. ARMYs can’t wait to see BTS all together on stage again either!

Jungkook also arrived at a super-secret location in London and performed an exclusive version of ‘Seven’ for BBC 'The One' show

Jungkook has also been participating in several other promotional activities for ‘Seven.’ He kickstarted his schedule by performing at Central Park in NYC for the Good Morning America Summer Concert series. Although the live concert had to be cancelled because of thunderstorm warnings in the area, JK still blew away ARMY with his soundcheck and pre-recording of the event

Jungkook also teamed up with Apple Music and Spotify and played fun games while answering ARMYs burning questions. Even though ‘Seven’ shows a mature and sensual side of Jungkook, the games brought out his signature adorable bunny side. We can't wait to listen to the entire album!
