South Korean boy band BTS member V aka Kim Taehyung is back in the headlines after he was spotted in his Special Duty Team (SDT) uniform while patrolling at the 2024 Veteran Cultural Festival in Chuncheon. A video of V interacting with Lee-Ji Young from Big Mama has gone viral which shows him looking buffed and sharp. The latter was reportedly performing at the event.
In the video, he can be seen introducing himself as V from BTS and stating that he is patrolling as a part of the military police. Young tells him that he looks cool in his uniform, leaving him shy. He then tells her, "I have to go where my duty calls, see you next time," and departs. Watch the video below.

V's look left the BTS ARMY drooling. One user wrote, "He's looking pure gentlemen."
"I've never seen someone looking THIS fine in a uniform," added another.
"The army is overjoyed to see him well and happy, and that is all they could hope for. Army's love you Captain Kim Taehyung," wrote one user.
In 2022, BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook decided to take some time off as a group and focus on their solo projects. Formed in 2010, the South Korean boy band also took a break in December 2021, when the group said they needed some downtime to recharge.
In 2023, V made his solo debut with the songs 'Slow Dancing', 'Love Me Again', and 'Rainy Days'. The same year in November, it was announced that V had enlisted for his mandatory military service. In February this year, he was assigned to the âSsangyong Unit' of the 2nd Corps. He was reported to be serving under the Special Task Force of the Military Police Corps.
The decision by BTS to enlist helped avert a sticky situation for South Korea's government. Military service is compulsory for all able-bodied males under 30 years old. The current system allows for some exceptions on the grounds of exceptional service to the country. Some top athletes and classical musicians have been excused on this basis, but pop artists have not.
In March 2024, V dropped his latest music video âFRI(END)S' which also stars British actress Ruby Sear. It was an instant chartbuster.
