Trevor Noah
Trevor Noah's final leg of India tour ends with his two back-to-back shows in Mumbai. Both the Bengaluru shows scheduled last week were cancelled due to technical issues leaving audiences upset. At the Mumbai show which he termed a success, the comedian shared details of the mayhem at the venue.
As mentioned in a report in The News Minute, Noah called the Manpho Convention Centre in Bengaluru, the venue for the show, a 'semi-permanent tent' and said that the path leading up to it had barking dogs in cages. He mentioned that the seating arrangements were poor and that the air-conditioner units were blowing hot air. Noah also commented on the massive traffic jam the city faced that evening and the resultant ordering of food to the venue by the audience who were stuck. Despite the poor experience faced by the global comedian, he said he would "definitely come back to Bengaluru". "I won't let that stop me," he added, after extensively roasting the venue.
Narrating the Bengaluru experience to his Mumbai audiences, Noah said, "Usually what happens is, there's an entranceâ¦through which you emerge into the backstage area before you come up and perform. Here we walked through an alley that was full of dogs, half of which were in cages," Noah said.
Adding humour to the situation, Noah further commented, "Some of these dogs are outside, what have those dogs [in cages] done? That's what I wanted to know." Noah also expressed his surprise at the situation by saying that he had never witnessed such a thing before.

Noah went on to say, "So then we go on to this âvenue', we'll call it. I guess it was a building. Technically. Technically, I guess some of the structures fulfilled the rules of what we consider a building. And the room - let's call it a semi-permanent tentâ¦"
Several clips from the show are now doing the rounds on social media and audiences revealed that the comedian spoke about the venue for 15 minutes. In one of the clips on social media, Noah can be heard saying, "None of you emailed me saying, âTrevor, what on earth are you doing performing there?' If you were coming to do a show in South Africa and you sent me a text saying you're performing in hell, I'd send you a message."
The comedian also took a dig at the organisers, BookMyShow, for making false promises to the audience. The audience was asked to wait with the promise of Noah resuming the show when in reality the comedian had already announced the cancellation of the show and left the premises. "An hour [after leaving the venue], I start getting tweets saying âTrevor, where are you?'. It's very hot, please come back," he is heard saying at the Mumbai show.
Noah will be having his final act in India tonight at the NSCI Dome in Worli, Mumbai.
