It seems like Tom Cruise desperately wants to be in Carpool Karaoke. While making an appearance on the late-night show 'Conan,' the 55-year-old actor caught a ride with host Conan O'Brien in a pretaped segment for Tuesday's episode. Joining the host in London, Cruise hit the road with O'Brien behind the wheel.

'We're going to do 'Carpool Karaoke,' right?' Cruise asked, confusing O'Brien's segment with fellow late-night host James Corden's popular sketches in which celebrities belt out songs while cruising the streets. But O'Brien had something bigger planned. 'We're going to blow up the internet. You want to do that?' the host asked and Cruise was on board.
'Everyone else has done bells and whistles. My thing is we take it back to basics, We just drive,' said Conan. The trip started awkwardly, with the two stars not making much small talk. 'I'm open to answer questions if you want to ask me some,' Cruise said, while O'Brien kept his focus on the road ahead.

The 'American Made' actor even tried to break the ice by teasing a never-before-heard story about Jack Nicholson, but O'Brien was too concerned with navigating an upcoming roundabout to pay the superstar actor much mind. 'Just remind me about that later and I'll tell it,' shared Cruise.
The awkwardness continued as O'Brien explained to Cruise that he had not driven in quite some time as his license had been revoked in America. 'I took these pills, and I was so whacked out, Tom,' O'Brien said laughing.
But he tried to ask some question to Cruise, but confused his travel companion with fellow actor Richard Gere. When Cruise expressed his need for a restroom break, O'Brien offered him an empty water bottle. At the end, Cruise asked, 'How long have we been driving?' to which O'Brien responded, 'About three and a half hours.' Shortly thereafter, Cruise unlocked his child safety locks and jumped from the moving vehicle.
