Close on the heels of The Chainsmokers rocking Mumbai, mid-day has learnt that another renowned international artiste, Niles Hollowell-Dhar, better known as KSHMR, is set to tour India next month.

After headlining big stages like Tomorrowland and Ultra Music Festival this year, the California-based Indo-American DJ-producer will perform across six Indian cities - New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai. His act at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse on October 29 will mark the dance music star's maiden performance in the city.

Ranked 12 on DJ Mag's 2016 list of top 100 DJs, KSHMR is known for blending sounds from Asia and the Middle East with contemporary European and North American dance styles. Born to an Indian father and an American mother, KSHMR calls his India gig a "homecoming of sorts". "I attribute a large part of my success to India.

The country has always held a special place in my heart. This is my first tour in India - a moment I've been waiting for since long," says KSHMR, who has worked with some of the leading names from the music fraternity like Far East Movement, Enrique Iglesias, Selena Gomez and Tiësto.

Karan Singh, global CEO of Sunburn, the festival that is promoting the tour, says, "For his upcoming tour, we are curating a one-of-a-kind arena that will offer an unparalleled live music experience to the audience."

For his Delhi gig, KSHMR has partnered with Child Rights and You (CRY) - all the proceeds from the show, titled Karma, will go to the NGO. "Having CRY as part of the show is an honour, because they help the ones who are the most affected by poverty - the children," says KSHMR.
