Lead singer of Irish band The Cranberries, Dolores O'Riordan, died suddenly in London, confirmed her publicist

Lead singer of Irish band The Cranberries, Dolores O'Riordan, died "suddenly" in London, confirmed her publicist. She was 46. According to the statement, "The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session.' "No further details are available at this time," it added. The singer, who led 'The Cranberries' for 13 years, died unexpectedly while she was in London for a short recording session, the statement added, reports the CNN.

The band rose to global fame in the mid-1990s with a string of hits, like 'Linger', 'Zombie' and 'Dreams'. To pay tribute to the lead singer, The Cranberries - Noel Hogan, Fergal Lawler, and Mike Hogan ' took to their Twitter handle and wrote, 'We are devastated on the passing of our friend Dolores. She was an extraordinary talent and we feel very privileged to have been part of her life from 1989 when we started the Cranberries. The world has lost a true artist today. Noel, Mike and Fergal'.

In 2007, O'Riordan launched a solo project with her album 'Are you Listening?' before reuniting with the group in 2009. O'Riordan and Duran Duran's former tour manager, Don Burton, were married in 1994 and had three children. They divorced in 2014.
