How I Met Your Mother
'How I Met Your Mother' continues to be one of the shows we all love to binge-watch. So what better occasion than the oh-so-romantic Valentine's Day to bring back fond memories of the show? So as you re-live your favourite HIMYM moments on Star World, here are 10 facts to make you love the show a little more!
Anything for Love - Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan, and Neil Patrick Harris's real-life husbands all appeared on the show more than once. For instance, Lily's ex-boyfriend Scooter played by David Burtka is actually Barney's husband in real life while Sandy Rivers played by Alexis Denisof is Lily's husband in real life. The gang-dividing, wise-cracking, mostly un-likable Gary Blauman played by Taran Killam is actually married to Robin in real life.
The Kids knew their Mother all along - All of Lyndsy Fonseca and David Henrie's (the kids) scenes for the entire season were filmed during the first season, including the scenes from the finale episode which involved the mother. These two knew the ending of the series for nine years. Can you imagine keeping such a huge secret for 9 whole years? Now isn't that cute!

The show definitely inspired some real-life love stories - During the season 2 finale, one of the extras in the restaurant scene proposed to a fellow extra after Robin found an engagement ring in her champagne that wasn't Ted's. The extra's brother was a writer on the show and helped organize the real-life proposal! Lets cheers to that!
Yes, true love and friendship do exist! Ted, Marshall, and Lily are based on real people- the creators and college friends Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and Craig Thomas's wife, Rebecca. Real life moments from the three have been incorporated into the show.
Oh Baby! In the episode 'Posimpible', when Lily stands up after eating hot dogs, her "food baby" is actually due to her real-life pregnancy. Both Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders were pregnant during season. The two are usually filmed covering their stomachs during this season.
An un-ending love affair - As the show ended almost after a decade, the cast and crew grew incredibly close and attached to the series. Josh Radnor kept the blue French horn, Neil Patrick Harris kept the Playbook and the gang's booth at MacLaren's booth, and the director and two creators, Pamela Fryman, Craig Thomas, and Carter Bays, kept the three yellow umbrellas.
