The biggest red carpet event rolled out recently. For the uninitiated, we're talking about the Festival de Cannes. While movies are most definitely the focus, stars descending on the red carpet are an equal draw. This year, Blake Lively bagged our âbest dressed' prize, her impeccable outfits and attitude wowing one and all.
However, most A-listers failed to score high on the style-o-meter and some others even made our eyes pop out with their sartorial choices. hitlist turns the spotlight on who wore what at the red carpet...
Naomi Watts was a bundle of oomph as she flaunted ample cleavage in a one-shoulder dusty blue Marchesa gown. Side-swept hair and a statement neckpiece completed her look. Pics/AFP
Nicole Kidman disappointed by going OTT with a heavily embellished gown. Her trendy hairdo and chic make-up did little to salvage her look.
Zoe Saldana picked a Victoria Beckham number, the top half being a cascade of assymetrical ruffles. She cinched it with a golden belt. Classy but not, well, Cannes-y.
Elena Lelina ruined her magenta gown by putting on a really long neckpiece that resembled Xmas baubles. Let's not even talk about the TV actress' bowl bun.
Colour burst on the bodice cheered up Cate Blanchett's black Givenchy outfit that also boasted a sheer illusion back. But isn't she capable of doing much better?
Julianne Moore chose an oxblood hued top with a plunging V-neck and she teamed it with a floor-sweeping skirt, both by Louis Vuitton. Pretty gorgeous.
Liya Kebede walked the red carpet in a sheer mini dress from Robert Cavalli. Apart from the cleavage tease and toned legs, there wasn't much to root for.
Victoria's Secret Angel, Karlie Kloss has unquestionable oomph but it was drowned out by that double-hued lacey dress that should perhaps be worn only on Halloween.
Gossip Girl Blake Lively was a head-turner. The pastel-sequined Chanel Couture number, minimal accessories, coquettish body language⦠She was like a whiff of fresh air in yawnsville.
