The 90's are coming back with a vengeance with some of the most popular TV shows and movies getting a major reboot
John Stamos pleasantly shocked fans worldwide when he announced that Full House was making a full-fledged comeback. If you're a 90's kid, you'll be happy to know that it's not the only classic which is getting a re-boot.
Both Television and movies from the 90's seem to be experiencing some major revival of sorts. We give you a lowdown of some of our most beloved shows and movies that are making a comeback in style.
The Muppet Show
1976 Nineteen years after the series bid us goodbye, this childhood classic is set to get a re-boot. The show was revived last in 1996 and will be re-launched soon. Apparently this will be a more 'adult' version of the previous Muppets where the lives and relationships of the Muppets will be explored and shed some light on.
Full House
1987 You got it, dude! One of the most adored television series from the 90's is finally making a comeback with 13 episodes and fans couldn't be more excited. The new series will be called Fuller House, and uncle Jesse (Stamos) himself will be producing the series. Full House first aired in 1987 and continues to be a very popular show from that time. The sequel will see most of the original cast members like Bob Saget, Lori Loughlin, Dave Coulier, Jodi Sweetin and Candace-Cameron Bure.
Jurassic Park
1993 The terrifying world of dinosaurs is coming back and how. Almost fifteen years later and twenty-two years since the first movie released, the Jurassic World phenomenon is coming back to life. The reboot is set in the present day times with the reopening of Jurassic Park called Jurassic World. The big guys are back to wrecking havoc this summer and you wouldn't want to miss the larger than life (literally) experience.
Power Rangers
1993 The Power Rangers are getting their own movie! If you grew up in the 90's, you have to be familiar with these colourful superheroes. The popular 90's show about a group of college students with special super powers, who employ themselves to saving the world, is being made into a major movie and their now slightly older fans couldn't be more psyched about it.
The X-Files
1993 Since the series ended in 2002, staunch fans of X-Files have been pining for a return. If reports are to be believed, the famous show is about to officially make a return on the small screen. While speculation about whether David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson would reprise their hugely popular roles is rife, the production is expected to begin this summer.
The Lion King
1994 The extremely popular animated film from the 90's has the odd capability of tearing up the most stoic hearts. Once an oh so popular children's classic, it is now getting yet another movie apart from a television spin off as well. It will reportedly be called The Lion Guard and will track the exciting adventures of Simba and Nala's son Kion.
Scream
1996 The American horror franchise is all set to make its return as the slasher movie is soon being made into a TV series. The hilarious yet terrifying movie debuted in 1996 and went on to have three sequels with the last one releasing in 2011. Post the release, the scream mask was all the rage and went on to being a very famous Halloween get-up addition.
