Asked if she is excited about the event, the 46-year-old, who is nominated for her role in "Boyhood", told Us Weekly magazine: "It's the grown-up version of going to Disneyland, like, 'Look at that big statue.' I just hope I don't faint."
Arquette, who is dating artist Eric White, was shocked when she was informed about her nomination and claims it took her two days to process the news, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
"I was at a restaurant and my boyfriend went to the bathroom. When he left, it was like I woke up. I grabbed the kid at the table next to me and was like, 'I got nominated for an Academy Award.' When he got back, the kid and I were jumping and screaming," she said.
The actress, who has son Enzo, 26, and daughter Harlow, 11, from previous relationships, says they are also "excited" about her success.
"They give me high-fives, which is a lot to get from them," she said.
