According to hollywoodreporter.com, Damon has now signed "Good Will Hunting" director Gus Van Sant as his replacement who will start shooting the movie later this year.

Damnon, 41, teamed up with John Krasinski to co-write the untitled drama and he originally planned direct the movie. However, he dropped the idea after realising he won't have enough time for the job.
