Two weeks after denying reports of her looking to expand her family, Madonna is set to bring home twin girls from Malawi, an African country. The popstar has been granted an adoption order for Esther and Stella, aged four, by the Malawi High Court, and is free to take them to the US.
The singer, who was under the spotlight for her relationship with her son, Rocco, last year, will be under observation by the court for a year before the adoption process is finalised.
Madonna filed for the adoption on January 25, but denied having done so to the press.
She had told The People, "I am in Malawi to check on the children's hospital in Blantyre and my other work with Raising Malawi and then I head home. Rumours of an adoption process are not true."
Mlenga Mvula, a spokesperson for the Lilongwe High Court, claimed the 58-year-old applied in person.
The singer is already mother to Lourdes, 19, (her daughter with ex Carlos Leon), Rocco, 15, from her marriage to Guy Ritchie, and David Banda, and Mercy, both 11, whom she adopted.
